Assistant Depot Manager - eCommerce

This is a management position that is responsible for the high volume fulfilment operations, 6 days staff planning, inventory management, replenishment and warehousing. We are looking for a strong leader and communicator who can develop and execute operations strategy. With a passion for excellent member service, the successful candidate will be process-driven, analytical, organized, and accountable with exceptional communication skills. The person will possess good planning skills and will be able to demonstrate a drive for excellence. The person will be relied upon to deliver to a standard and deadline. The person will have an extensive order fulfillment experience for an eCommerce website and demonstrated experience with order fulfillment systems.

Duties will be but not limited to:

  • Effectively plans and meets daily targets with an expectation to exceed production capacity.
  • Manages and ensures processes are followed for receiving and shipping of all e-Commerce merchandise and orders.
  • Aims to achieve productivity targets, reduces cost per unit, eliminates errors and ensures an excellent customer experience.
  • Builds strong business cases for the future investment in eCommerce, leading key projects to support innovation and growth.
  • Able to identify new opportunities or drive efficiencies.
  • Manages the budget and cost control of eCommerce activities.
  • Leads and collaborates with all internal and external stakeholders to support the eCommerce strategy.
  • Demonstrates an ability to drive change and continuous improvement.
  • Able to analyse data and understand connections.
  • Able to manage information, identify any root causes of potential obstacles and then extract and manipulate any data as may be necessary.
  • Works with a variety of stakeholders from carriers and third party storage providers.
  • Able to take ownership of the role, whilst also working within a team environment.
  • Maintains Health and Safety standards within the Company Policies and Procedures.


  • Minimum 5 years Supply Chain Management experience with 3 years in leadership position, preferably fromeCommerce / FMCG / retail environment / warehouse operations 3PL.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role, with an e-Commerce retailer.
  • Record of performance growth in an eCommerce Manager role.
  • Mature leadership, influencing, and relationship building skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and previous experience in managing eCommerce inventory.
  • Dedication to business strategy and customer service excellence.
  • A strong passion for technology whilst understanding the commercial drivers of a large trading organization.
  • P&L management experience is advantageous however, not essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong problem solving skills and eye for detail.
